private information

The American Nuclear Society Utah Student Chapter (ANSUSC) is the University of Utah's student section of the national ANS organization. ANSUSC aims to inform the public of the benefits of nuclear energy and its applications and to recruit students into the University of Utah's unique nuclear engineering programs. Additionally, ANSUSC fosters professional development and exciting nuclear-related opportunities for its members.

Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in nuclear engineering, preferably students either enrolled in or considering enrollment in the nuclear engineering minor or graduate program. Terms of membership include national ANS membership which costs $28 as of 2011-2012 and lasts through December 2012. ANSUSC also has a nominal $5 membership fee. Members are expected to attend ANSUSC chapter meetings and participate in ANSUSC fundraising, outreach, and recruitment events on an as needed basis. Full membership allows ANSUSC members to run for ANSUSC Executive Board positions and to qualify for exclusive professional opportunities such as induction into the Alpha Nu Sigma Honor Society, scholarships, and travel assistance for the ANS Student Conference.
